Xiaomi Renames Redmi Brand for Indian Market; New Appearance Unveiled with Redmi 15 Launch

Xiaomi's sub-brand, Redmi, has introduced a revamped brand identity after an 11-year journey in India. This rebranding marks Redmi's evolution from an entry-level smartphone maker to a confident, forward-looking brand that mirrors the maturity and determination of its user base.

The new identity features a redesigned, bolder logo with a capitalized, sans-serif font and a refreshed visual aesthetic that symbolizes Redmi's growth, resilience, and deeper connection with a modern, ambitious generation of users in India.

The Redmi 15, the first device to embody this new identity, is set to launch on August 19, 2025. This device is designed to meet the needs of young consumers who are constantly seeking more.

The Redmi 15 will boast a 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, providing an immersive visual experience. Under the hood, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, ensuring smooth performance.

In terms of photography, the Redmi 15 will feature a 50MP AI camera, promising high-quality images. The device will also come with smart AI features to enhance user experience.

To cater to the needs of power users, the Redmi 15 will come with a massive 7,000 mAh battery, ensuring long hours of usage. The device will debut in three colours: Frosted White, Sandy Purple, and Midnight Black.

Sudhin Mathur, Chief Operating Officer of Xiaomi India, stated that Redmi has always stood for making the impossible possible. He further added that the new identity reflects the shared evolution of the brand and its users. As Redmi users grow, the brand continues to build for them, reflecting their dreams and aspirations.

According to Xiaomi, over 220 million Redmi devices have been sold in India. This success is a testament to the brand's commitment to delivering innovative, value-driven products that cater to the needs of its users.

Mathur emphasized that Redmi is "not leaving behind who we were" but "becoming who you need us to be," underscoring the brand’s commitment to remain affordable and trustworthy while embracing the aspirations of a new generation.

The new Redmi 15 and its refreshed brand identity signify a new chapter for the brand, symbolizing a long-term vision aligned with the evolving expectations of its customers.
