Westwater Resources Secures Patent for Kellyton Graphite Processing Facility Success

In a significant development, Westwater Resources Inc., an energy technology and battery-grade natural graphite development company, has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its patent application regarding methods of purifying graphite at the Kellyton Graphite Plant. The patent approval is expected to be issued shortly, according to John W. Lawrence, Westwater's Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel, and Secretary.

The Kellyton Graphite Plant, located near Kellyton, Alabama, is a key part of Westwater Resources' efforts to develop battery-grade graphite materials in the United States. The patent approval is significant as it supports Westwater Resources' position in the graphite purification market, especially given recent tariffs and duties imposed on imported graphite products from countries like China.

The primary project of Westwater Resources is the Kellyton Graphite Plant, which is under construction in east-central Alabama. The Company's Coosa graphite deposit, spanning across 41,965 acres (approximately 17,000 hectares) in Coosa County, Alabama, is the most advanced natural flake graphite deposit in the contiguous United States.
