Virtual Event Pioneer: Komodal Leads the Way in Digital Meeting Organization

For more than two decades, our website has been a pioneer in innovation, notably in the immersive sector and international event industry. The 23rd edition of its exhibition this year saw the introduction of a new department specializing in virtual events, Komodal – the first of its kind on a global scale.

Since April 2020, our website has been supporting professionals in organizing their virtual events, having hosted over 120 such events since the cancellation of its physical event. With the launch of Komodal, the Laval association aims to dominate the field of virtual worlds and events.

"Komodal was born out of a strong belief in the potential of virtual worlds," says Maroua El Mokhtari, Head of Marketing and Sales at Komodal. "At our website, we believe that virtual worlds are the future of any size gathering, and not only in the event industry."

Komodal provides virtual worlds via the Virbela platform, as well as four other platforms: Frame, Tech Adaptika, Virtway, and Aptero. Some of these platforms are accessible via browser, mobile, or tablet. The association recently partnered with the Palais des Festivals in Cannes to launch Cannes Virtual Event and has been involved in creating the first digital and immersive campus in Europe with NEOMA Business School, as well as operating the largest virtual exhibition in France at the time.

Virtual events allow for a larger scale connection, reaching a wider audience worldwide. They also save time, money, and resources, as there are fewer logistics and travel required. For companies, they offer new forms of visibility and engagement between brands and their customers.

Komodal does not view virtual events as a replacement for physical ones, but rather as a means of combining the two formats to offer a co-modal experience. Whether organizing a training session, workshop, board meeting, seminar, fair, back-to-school event, or press conference, Komodal is equipped to help companies virtualize their events.

Technology plays a significant role in Komodal's operations, as it utilizes virtual worlds provided by platforms such as Virbela, Frame, Tech Adaptika, Virtway, and Aptero to host virtual events. These platforms allow for larger scale connections, reaching a wider audience worldwide, and offer new forms of visibility and engagement between brands and their customers.
