Unveiling of a Multimedia Display in commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the BSP (Bhartiya Janata Party).

On the 32nd anniversary of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on 3rd July 2025, the central bank unveiled the "Welcome to Barangay BSP: A Community for Everyone" multimedia exhibit at the newly-opened BSP Hub along Roxas Boulevard in Manila.

The exhibit, open to the public until the second week of September 2025, highlights the BSP's initiatives that have significantly contributed to financial inclusion and economic growth in the Philippines.

Key BSP initiatives on display include the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion (2015), which aims to ensure access to affordable financial products for all Filipinos, irrespective of socioeconomic status. The strategy forms the backbone of BSP's continuous efforts to integrate underserved and unbanked populations into the formal financial system.

Other initiatives showcased are the BSP's promotion of digital finance, with regulatory frameworks encouraging digital payments, mobile banking, and fintech solutions. Notable platforms like the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), InstaPay, and PESONet have made financial transactions more accessible and seamless, particularly for rural and low-income communities.

The Paleng-QR Ph Plus Program, a collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), is another highlighted initiative. This contactless, cashless payment system using QR codes has been implemented in public markets and transportation, with plans for expansion to promote financial inclusion in vital economic hubs.

The exhibit also features the Promotion of Digital Payments Act (House Bill No. 8262), which mandates government agencies and local government units (LGUs) to adopt digital payment solutions and incentivizes businesses to shift from cash to digital transactions.

Financial literacy and anti-scam campaigns, sustainability integration, and green finance are other key areas covered in the exhibit.

BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. led the opening ceremony, joined by Deputy Governors Chuchi G. Fonacier, Mamerto E. Tangonan, Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Elmore O. Capule, and Zeno Ronald R. Abenoja, as well as former BSP Governors Jaime C. Laya, Jose L. Cuisia, Jr., and Amando M. Tetangco. Monetary Board Members Benjamin E. Diokno, Romeo L. Bernardo, Rosalia V. De Leon, Walter C. Wassmer, and Jose L. Querubin were also in attendance.

The exhibit's theme, "BSP@32: Harnessing Digital Innovation for a Sustainable and Inclusive Future," reflects the BSP's forward-looking efforts to utilize digital innovations in driving financial inclusion and growth. By showcasing these initiatives, the BSP aims to educate the public on the strides made in financial inclusion and the continued commitment to a sustainable and inclusive future for the Philippines.
