New UAV Laboratory for Children Opens at All-Russian Children's Center "Ocean"

The All-Russian Children's Center "Ocean" has made a significant stride in STEM education with the launch of a new laboratory for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The innovative space, designed for children, is equipped with a variety of tools to spark interest in drone technology.

According to Nikolai Sychukash, a teacher at the UAV laboratory, this new facility will provide children with skills that are relevant for today's world. Drones are increasingly used in agricultural activities, filmmaking, and drone racing is growing in popularity. Working in the laboratory, children will learn to work with various types of quadcopters, including both assembly UAVs and sports drones.

The laboratory is well-stocked with state-of-the-art equipment. Children will have access to simulators and software for setting up the copter, allowing them to customize various parameters such as drone light diodes and movement algorithms. Some UAVs even feature a "first-person view" function, enabling users to observe the drone's movement through installed cameras with VR glasses.

The program includes assembly, setup, and simulator work for the UAVs. For those interested in the more agile sports drones, some experience is required to control them due to their speed.

The opening of the UAV laboratory was captured on camera three times, marking a milestone in the Centre's commitment to fostering STEM skills among its young learners. As drone technology continues to evolve, the laboratory is expected to integrate AI for autonomous flight, expand its curricula covering drone design innovations, and collaborate with research institutions.

Currently, there is limited public information available about the specifics of this UAV laboratory at the "Ocean" Center. For authoritative and specific content, it is recommended to contact the Center directly or review official publications from Russian educational or technological institutions. However, based on general knowledge of similar educational UAV labs for children and youth, this laboratory is likely to provide structured education in basic drone piloting, UAV assembly, programming, understanding aerodynamics, electronics, and safety protocols. The goal is to prepare children for future careers in aviation, robotics, and drone technologies.

In this innovative UAV laboratory, children will not only learn about various types of gadgets such as quadcopters, but also gain hands-on experience in working with cutting-edge technology like drones. As part of the program, children will be introduced to programming, aerodynamics, and safety protocols, setting them up for potential careers in aviation, robotics, and drone technologies.
