Article: Jay Leno's Latest Addition to His Car Collection - The Ford Mustang GTD

Jay Leno, the famous talk show host and car enthusiast, has added another impressive vehicle to his extensive collection. This time, it's the Ford Mustang GTD, a high-performance, track-focused Mustang that is turning heads everywhere it goes.

Contrary to popular belief, Jay Leno did not ask for permission to attend a Toyota Supra meet, but he arrived there in the Ford Mustang GTD nonetheless. The Mustang GTD, with its carbon-fiber bodywork, race-bred suspension, and a supercharged V8 engine, drew attention from everyone at the meet. When parked next to Toyota Supras, it felt like it came from another planet.

The Ford Mustang GTD is one of only 1,000 that will ever be made, making it a rare sight indeed. It boasts a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 Predator engine producing an impressive 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. Performance-wise, the Mustang GTD delivers a top speed of approximately 202 mph and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in about 3.2 seconds.

Inside, the GTD offers an upscale cockpit with premium materials like Miko suede, leather, and carbon fiber, Recaro racing seats (rear seats removed), and notable details such as a fighter-jet-inspired digital cockpit and a rotary dial shifter. The trunk area is repurposed to house bespoke suspension components, meaning traditional cargo room is eliminated.

Ford is aiming for the Mustang GTD to have a sub-seven-minute lap at the Nürburgring, a benchmark shared with only a few elite supercars. This car represents a blend of track-focused engineering with the raw muscle of the Mustang heritage, delivering hypercar-level performance in a uniquely American package.

Ford's CEO, Jim Farley, personally delivered the Mustang GTD to Jay Leno's garage, making it a truly special addition to his collection. The Mustang GTD, when it left Leno's garage, echoed with V8 thunder, leaving no doubt about its power and performance.

With this new addition, Leno's car collection, including a McLaren F1 and a Chrysler Turbine, among other classics, is worth around $100 million, making him the celebrity with the most searched-for car collection, beating Bill Gates and Cristiano Ronaldo.
