Grindr Introduces 'Grindr Presents': A Cultural Hub for the Queer Community

In a bold move, Grindr, the popular dating app, has unveiled a new in-app content hub called 'Grindr Presents'. This feature offers users an opportunity to immerse themselves in uncensored and original content, transforming Grindr into a comprehensive platform for entertainment and cultural expression.

'Grindr Presents' is designed to cater to the needs of the queer community, providing a space for raw and unfiltered self-expression. The content within this hub includes:

  • Star-studded videos: With shows like "Who’s The Asshole?" hosted by Katya, 'Grindr Presents' promises an array of engaging and entertaining videos.
  • Music drops: The music section features a Spotify playlist called "New Music Frigay", offering a selection of fresh tunes for users to enjoy.
  • Editorials: The platform also hosts articles and written content, providing insights and perspectives on various topics.
  • Behind-the-scenes tour clips: Users can get exclusive insights into events or productions with behind-the-scenes tour clips.
  • Playlists: Curated music collections offer a personalised listening experience for each user.

By curating content directly within the app, Grindr aims to offer a more controlled and cohesive user experience. This move also aims to keep users on the platform longer, giving Grindr control over the content consumed by its users.

'Grindr Presents' is not available on the app's YouTube or Instagram channels, making it an exclusive feature for Grindr users. To access this content, users should open the Grindr app, tap the side tray, and enter 'Grindr Presents'.

Despite the introduction of 'Grindr Presents', the ongoing controversy over Grindr's policies regarding certain discriminatory language in user bios remains unaddressed. Grindr continues to allow racist and fatphobic language in user bios, despite banning "no zionists" statements.

In addition to 'Grindr Presents', the app is testing AI chat summaries for paid users. By signing up for the weekly Trend Report newsletter on the website, users confirm they are 16+ and agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

This new approach by Grindr could be beneficial for gay culture and the app itself, positioning Grindr as a hub for gay culture and content, rather than just a dating app.
