In collaboration, UAEV and AW Rostamani have united to boost the rapid expansion of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the United Arab Emirates.

UAE-based companies UAEV and AW Rostamani join forces to amplify electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the United Arab Emirates.

In a significant move towards sustainable mobility, the Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV) and the AW Rostamani Group (AWR Group) have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

As the exclusive distributor of Zeekr and smart vehicles in the UAE, AWR Group will offer charging credits to customers purchasing these EVs. The initiative aims to encourage seamless, sustainable driving through the UAEV network, which currently operates the largest network of charging stations in the Northern Emirates.

The collaboration aligns with the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategy and National Electric Vehicles Policy, which focus on reducing carbon emissions and promoting the adoption of EVs. The partnership is expected to cut over 100,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions by 2030.

One of the key objectives of the partnership is to expand EV infrastructure, such as charging stations, which is critical for increasing EV adoption in line with the National Electric Vehicles Policy. UAEV plans to expand to 300 charging ports by the end of 2025.

In addition to expanding charging stations, the partnership also aims to promote smart vehicle technologies and mobility services. UAEV's ultra-fast DC stations are strategically placed to reduce range anxiety and support long-distance travel.

The programme also aims to enhance charging accessibility and streamline EV ownership. The charging credits can be activated via the UAEV app and used at any UAEV charging station. The initiative is set to roll out in the coming months.

Hicham Ezzahid, CEO of UAEV, stated, "Our partnership with AWR Group is a significant step towards our goal of supporting sustainable mobility in the UAE. We are committed to expanding our charging network and making EV ownership more accessible and convenient for our customers."

Sanaa Ouahmane, CEO of AWR Mobility Services, added, "We are excited to partner with UAEV to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the UAE. Our collaboration will not only provide charging credits to our customers but also contribute to the UAE's Net Zero 2050 goals by reducing CO2 emissions."

Further details on how the partnership advances the UAE's specific climate and transport policies, such as EVIS 2025, are yet to be released. However, it is expected that the collaboration will facilitate strategic consultancy and partnerships that align business and public sector efforts with sustainability and emission reduction targets.
