U.S. speculations about Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 have been debunked
In the lead-up to Samsung's anticipated release of the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, persistent rumors suggest that the Korean tech giant will once again opt for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for the global version of the Z Flip 7, excluding the South Korean market. According to Hankyung, a Korean publication, this decision is based on Snapdragon 8 Elite's widespread availability in regions outside of South Korea.
While Samsung's Z Flip 7 units sold domestically will carry their own Exynos 2500 chipset, the Qualcomm-powered versions will cater to North American, European, and most international markets. Previous rumors had suggested that the Z Flip 7's processors could either be the Exynos 2500 or a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, but this new report now slants towards Qualcomm’s technology.
Samsung has been grappling with the production yields of its Exynos processors, and there have been speculations that the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S26 series might use Exynos 2500 and 2600 processors, respectively, in certain regions. The Z Fold 7, on the other hand, is reported to feature the Snapdragon Elite 8 worldwide.
A definitive answer is expected to emerge during Samsung's annual summer Galaxy Unpacked event in July, where the two foldable phones, alongside wearable devices like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8, are anticipated to debut. Stay tuned for further updates.
