TVS SCS & Daimler Truck SEA Join Forces for Comprehensive Logistics Solution
TVS SCS and Daimler Truck South East Asia (DTSEA) have joined forces to create a comprehensive logistics solution. The collaboration aims to streamline supply chain operations and efficiently manage a large volume of parts with diverse storage needs.
The partnership will handle parts from three global plants: Mercedes-Benz Truck plant in Gemersheim, Germany; Daimler Buses plant in Ulm, Germany; and Mercedes-Benz plant in Brazil. TVS SCS will provide an IT solution offering inventory management, parts replenishment ordering, pricing, invoicing, and data analytics to DTPC Southeast Asia customers.
TVS SCS will oversee transportation across multiple modes, including local truck transport and air shipments. DHL will manage courier services, while Hapag Lloyd, Cosco, Maersk, and OOCL will handle ocean freight. The logistics partner will also manage customs clearance and dangerous goods declarations.
The new dedicated parts distribution center (PDC) with TVS SCS will store 8,000 SKUs and 65,000 order lines annually, catering to a wide range of parts. This center is a result of the separation of Daimler AG into Mercedes-Benz AG and Daimler Truck AG. DTSEA previously opened a regional center in Singapore in 2016 for commercial vehicle sales and services.
TVS SCS and DTSEA's collaboration ensures efficient parts management and transportation across the region. The new PDC with TVS SCS will provide a robust logistics solution, supporting Daimler Trucks' operations in Southeast Asia.
