In the heart of Romania, a startup named View Box Houses is making waves in the world of housing. With a focus on smart, modular, and sustainable living, this innovative company is offering customizable capsule homes that cater to modern compact living demands.
Founded by industry veterans with over 30 years of experience in the HoReCa sector, Lucian Lenț and Cristian Petruș, View Box Houses has invested over €1 million in developing a complete ecosystem for smart modular homes. The third founder, Vlad Ghiț, brings his entrepreneurial spirit and a wealth of experience, having started his first company at the tender age of 18 and growing it to over 100 employees.
Their product line consists of nine fully equipped housing models, ranging in size from 12 to 43 square meters. Prices for these housing models start at an affordable €21,800 (excluding VAT). Some popular models include the Santorini and London prefab houses, which feature advanced construction elements such as galvanized steel frames, aluminum alloy shells, polyurethane insulation, and intelligent control systems for smart living.
Key features integral to their homes include smart door locks, high-quality insulation, modern amenities, compact and efficient layouts, and designs incorporating glass curtain walls, skylights, and panoramic balconies for natural light and aesthetics. They also offer underfloor heating, electrical and water systems designed for efficiency and comfort, and integrated furniture such as extendable sofas, bar tables, wardrobes, and full kitchen equipment.
View Box Houses' development plan emphasizes affordable, modular housing suitable for urban and suburban living without requiring building permits for some models. They have faced challenges in identifying a factory for production and have made significant investments to adapt the production line in China. Despite these hurdles, they have launched showrooms and capsule houses in Romanian cities like Brașov and Timișoara, and will soon open in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, and Dublin.
As of now, 15 units have been delivered, and more projects are underway, including collaborations with partners in Spain, Italy, Ireland, and Australia. The company also offers full maintenance, post-sale support, and technical drawings for various foundation types.
Looking forward, View Box Houses plans to launch a new model by 2026 and expand its presence across Europe.
