This smartwatch competes with the Apple Watch Ultra and is lighter than two cherries combined.
A Fresh Take on the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro
Jetting off to China, I scored a sneaky peak at the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro - and let me tell ya, it's a doozy! I've been giving this compact smartwatch a whirl for over a month and I've gotta say, it's adorable as a button and supremely proficient to boot.
Now, while the Huawei Watch 5 might be the brand's flagship smartwatch, the Watch Fit 4 Pro is what I'd wholeheartedly recommend for most folks - and here's why. With an affordable price, a svelte build, and no skimping on features, it's a smashing combo that leaves the Apple Watch SE 2 in the dust (at least at this stage).
You'd get access to the latest TruSense platform straight off the bat, complete with a fingertip sensor, offline maps, and top-notch sleep tracking and sports modes - all for a fraction of the Apple Watch SE 2’s price tag!
If anything, the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is in a stylistic dance with the Apple Watch Ultra 2 (and yes, we'll leave it up to you to decide if that's a good or bad thing!).
So, what's not to love? Well, there are a few niggles, but the upsides definitely outweigh the downsides.
Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro: A Deep Dive
The Lowdown on Pricing and Availability
The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro hit the market in May 2025 and you can pick one up from Huawei UK for a suggested retail price of £249.99 (~$340.30/AU$ 521.10). It comes in three colorways. The non-Pro version, lacking the finger sensor and utilizing more affordable materials, sports a price tag of £149.99 (~$204.14/AU$ 312.72). I got my hands on the Titanium Black version.

Design and Materials
The Watch Fit 4 Pro is a major upgrade from the Huawei Watch Fit 3 - and not just because it's as cute as a button! Both sport aluminum alloy as their main case material, but the new kid has certainly leveled up with a scratch-resistant sapphire glass lens and titanium alloy trim.
The extra materials might account for the Watch Fit 4 Pro being a tad heavier than its predecessor at 30.4 g (without the strap), as well as bigger and taller, but slimmer. The screen dimensions, resolution, and pixel density remain unchanged (1.82" AMOLED, 480 × 408 pixels, PPI 347), but the new display is twice as bright as before at 3,000 nits.
The Watch Fit 4 Pro now stands head and shoulders above the Apple Watch Series 10 - with its brightness reaching as high as 2,000 nits. The exact brightness isn't disclosed for the Garmin Forerunner 570, but it seems the two might have similar stats in this department.
Another noticeable change? The Watch Fit 4 Pro bears a striking resemblance to a slimmed-down version of the Apple Watch Ultra - and the red accent watch crown on some versions ain't helping matters!
While I appreciate the design, I yearn for Huawei to step out of the Apple shadow and carve their own design ethos, as they did with the Watch 5.
A notable leap forward is the implementation of the latest TrueSense platform, which includes the X-Tap fingertip sensor between the watch crown and push button. This affords the Watch Fit 4 Pro more accurate ECG readings, amongst other perks. As far as I can tell, the wearable can't do the One Tap Health Glance. Smart functions and third-party app support remain a bit sketchy on the watch. Progress is being made, as Huawei continues to seek a resolution for its inability to use Google services.
Features and Accuracy
In terms of health and fitness tracking, the Watch Fit 4 Pro outperforms its peers, offering basics like steps, health, and stress tracking, but also more advanced features such as ECG and detailed sleep tracking.
Even the essential tracking features get a premium polish. The sleep tracking provides the same level of insight as the Huawei Watch 5 and dissects sleep into stages, keeps an eye on continuity, breathing quality, heart rate variability (HRV), respiratory rate and more.
HRV is a fresh new feature on the Watch Fit 4 Pro, as well as ECG. Manual ECG readings can be initiated on the watch and take just 30 seconds. I don't have Afib or any concerning heart issues, so I don't use this feature regularly, but it's there, trust me!
Tracking accuracy for the Watch Fit 4 Pro was reasonably spot-on. Sleep stage detection may be a bit off from other wearables, but it's all guestimation, so I'm not overly fussed when the numbers vary. HRV and heart rate tracking trends were consistent with other watches I tested during the review, including the Oura Ring 4, Whoop MG, and Garmin Forerunner 570.
Moving on to fitness tracking, the Watch Fit 4 Pro introduces a dual-band "Sunflower Positioning System," first debuted on the Huawei Watch GT 4. The antenna is positioned upwards, enabling the watch to snag a satellite connection swiftly with the watch face facing skyward. The dual-band system also allows for more accurate position tracking.
Huawei seems to be honing in on the Apple Watch Ultra with the Watch Fit 4 Pro's dive capabilities. You can now dive as deep as 40 meters, although I haven't had the chance to test this feature as I don't live near clear waters suitable for freediving.
What I did test was the trail running mode, which Huawei takes great pride in. Indeed, the mode offers metrics like vertical oscillation and ground contact time - stats you’d typically need a heart rate monitor like the Garmin HRM Pro to get on Garmin watches!
Offline maps are also available on the Watch Fit 4 Pro, though with a caveat - you'll need to use either Komoot or import GPX files to follow a route. This is a bit more complicated compared to simply selecting a point on the map and having the watch guide you there.
Huawei built a sprawling golf feature into the Watch Fit 4 Pro, with access to over 15,000 global course maps, precise distance tracking for greens and obstacles, and Driving Range mode. I'm not much of a golfer, so I can't personally vouch for these features, but it looks like a fascinating set of tools for golf enthusiasts.
Battery Life and Charging
The Watch Fit 4 Pro has an impressive battery life for an AMOLED wearable with a 3,000-nit brightness - and Huawei's own estimates are quite modest! You can easily get over a week's battery life with some GPS tracking, provided you're not tracking runs every day of the week. Charging is reasonably swift at 60 minutes from zero to 100%, although there's no quick charging (normal charging is pretty fast, though!).
Wrapping Up
The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is an unrivaled feat of balance. It dishes out an impressive suite of health and fitness features, including dual-band GPS, ECG, detailed sleep tracking, and even dive capabilities, all tucked away in a sleek, lightweight body.
For the price, you can't find much to complain about. Yes, the design may still feel inspired by Apple, and smartwatch staples like full app support and seamless navigation without Komoot are still lacking. But these omissions are easy to overlook given the premium build (hello, sapphire glass), outstanding battery life, and its ability to track running metrics usually reserved for pricier setups.
If you're after an elegant, fitness-focused smartwatch with some smarts to boot, the Watch Fit 4 Pro is absolutely worth a gander.Cre: Tom's Guide
