Thailand introduces AI-driven "WebD" platform, aims to combat illegal sites and enhance productivity

**Thailand's WebD Platform: A Game-Changer in Combating Illegal Content and Streamlining Judicial Processes**

In a bid to strengthen its efforts against the proliferation of illegal content online, the Thai government has launched the WebD platform. This innovative platform leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic process automation (RPA) to combat illegal websites and expedite the judicial process.

The WebD platform is designed to locate, analyse, and gather evidence on unlawful URLs, enabling rapid identification of illegal websites. Once identified, the platform automatically generates paperless court petitions based on the gathered evidence, significantly speeding up the judicial process. Court orders are then automatically forwarded to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for prompt enforcement, and a built-in "URLs Checker" continuously monitors blocked sites to ensure ongoing compliance and detection of re-emerging illegal content.

These capabilities allow the WebD platform to handle over 100,000 illegal URLs annually, a significant acceleration compared to manual methods. The platform processes cases 31.5 times faster than manual operations, demonstrating its efficiency in streamlining the entire enforcement workflow from detection to legal action and enforcement.

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE) anticipates that the WebD platform will increase the number of blocked URLs by 70.7% in 2025, compared to the previous year. This growth underscores the platform's effectiveness in combating illegal content.

Meanwhile, the DE's Fake News Centre has been actively monitoring news related to the Thai-Cambodian border conflict, having blocked 29 URLs and debunked 42 false reports. The Centre is also working closely with security agencies to ensure the accuracy and reliability of information circulating online.

Elsewhere, the government is preparing for severe flooding and mudslides in thirty-three Thai provinces this week. The Acting Prime Minister has been advised that he cannot dissolve the House of Representatives at this time.

In other digital developments, the DE is testing the DE-fence platform, a platform aimed at combating fraudulent calls. The platform is currently in BETA testing and is expected to have a full public release soon.

Finally, the Government Whip has announced that the Entertainment Complex Bill will be withdrawn on July 9.

The WebD platform, with its AI Crawler, automatic court submission, and real-time monitoring, represents a significant step forward in Thailand's digital economy and society, demonstrating the government's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure online environment for its citizens.
