Etherlink, the EVM-compatible Layer-2 blockchain built on Tezos Smart Rollup technology, is experiencing a surge in growth within the Web3 gaming sector. The platform has recently launched two new blockchain-based games, Pikes Arena and Cricket Champions, strengthening its gaming presence and catering to diverse audiences.

Pikes Arena is a competitive, tactical PvP game featuring real rewards. It offers three modes: a free Warm-up mode, Pike mode with PIKE$ token rewards and airdrop eligibility, and a Tezos (XTZ) wagering mode. The game integrates Sequence’s account abstraction smart wallet and Sequence Builder tools to simplify the transition from Web2 to Web3 for players.

Cricket Champions, on the other hand, is the world's first blockchain strategy collectible card game dedicated to cricket. Players collect and upgrade cards, engage in PvP, and participate in campaigns and esports tournaments aimed at large cricket audiences, especially in India. This strategic focus leverages Etherlink's accessible Web3 framework to attract cricket fans into blockchain gaming.

The Tezos blockchain network supporting Etherlink hosted over 11 active games and had around 180,000 active wallet addresses in the last month, indicating a vibrant and growing ecosystem in gaming.

Etherlink's architecture offers fast sub-second transaction finality (<500ms), exceptionally low fees (~$0.001+), and censorship-resistant governance via on-chain voting. This makes it highly scalable and attractive for gaming and other high-frequency blockchain applications. Its seamless Ethereum tool compatibility and cross-chain interoperability facilitate broad developer adoption between Ethereum and Tezos ecosystems.

Beyond gaming, Etherlink supports DeFi growth, as evidenced by the deployment of Curve Finance on the network. This multi-faceted growth highlights Etherlink as a promising Layer-2 platform advancing Tezos' position in Web3 gaming and finance.

In summary, Etherlink’s recent launches of Pikes Arena and Cricket Champions mark significant milestones in its Web3 gaming sector expansion, backed by a growing active user base, strong infrastructure advantages, and strategic integration of games appealing to global audiences. The platform is positioning itself to attract traditional players by merging familiar gameplay formats with blockchain benefits.
