Testing out HyperX's latest gaming headset, featuring an innovative feature I've yet to encounter
HyperX and HP Unveil New Gaming Products
In a move to elevate the gaming experience, HP is introducing a range of new products under its HyperX and Omen brands. Among these offerings are the HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless headset and refreshed Omen gaming desktops and laptops.
The star of the show is the HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless, priced at $300 and set to hit the market in August 2025. This premium gaming headset boasts several impressive features.
With a battery life of up to 250 hours on a single charge using a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, the Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless doubles the battery life offered by its competitors. It also supports simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity, although this halves the battery life.
The headset is equipped with custom 53 mm dual-chamber drivers that provide low distortion spatial audio. The design is comfortable, featuring breathable microfiber earpads and memory foam support around a steel-reinforced headband.
The unique selling point of the Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless is its RGB Base Station. This control station replaces the traditional dongle and offers a large volume wheel, a mute button for the microphone, six customizable buttons, and is programmable using HyperX's new Ngenuity app.
Meanwhile, the new Omen devices are impressively stealthy for gaming hardware. The Omen 16 laptop can now house a 5070 Ti graphics card, while the Omen 35L desktop has been refreshed. The new Omen Max 45L desktop can accommodate an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, the most powerful graphics card currently available on the market.
All these devices feature advanced cooling solutions to ensure optimal performance during intense gaming sessions. However, the exact release dates and pricing for these new products have not been announced yet.
