Tesla's Self-Driving Model Y Hits US Roads, India Launch Imminent
Tesla is poised to transform the roads in India and the US with its latest innovations in self-driving technology. From June, customers in the US will commence receiving Model Y vehicles equipped with self-driving capabilities. Meanwhile, India will witness the launch of the Model Y alongside the Model 3.
Tesla's Robotaxis will also hit the streets of Austin, Texas, from June, initially with human safety operators on board to oversee the self-driving vehicles. Austin was chosen for this rollout due to its navigable urban layout and Tesla's significant presence in the area via Gigafactory Texas. The city has already seen testing of self-driven Model Y cars, with no reported incidents. Before these tests, Tesla should have initiated testing its self-driving technology in Austin, as per regulations.
In India, Tesla has submitted applications for homologation of the Model Y and Model 3, clearing the path for their launch in the country.
Tesla's expansion of self-driving capabilities and its entry into the Indian market are significant strides towards a future of autonomous and sustainable transportation. With careful testing and monitoring, these advancements promise to enhance safety and convenience for drivers and passengers alike.
