Tesla's China branch introduces fresh insurance incentives for Model 3, Cybervault price reduction, and more affordable Supercharging rates
Tesla Announces Promotions in China Ahead of Slower Car Sales Season
Tesla has announced a series of promotions in China aimed at boosting sales during the traditionally slower post-Lunar New Year car sales season. The electric vehicle manufacturer made the announcement on the social media site Weibo, revealing discounts on insurance, Supercharging, and the Cybervault, a Cybertruck-inspired protective case for home charging stations.
The insurance subsidy of ¥8,000 is available for new orders, existing inventory, display models, and test drive vehicles from February 5 to 28. To qualify for the subsidy, buyers must opt for insurance through Tesla's partnered providers. This subsidy can be combined with Tesla's 0% interest financing incentive, which has been extended to the end of February.
The prices for Model 3 trims have been reduced due to the new progressive insurance subsidy. The starting prices for Model 3 trims after the January 10 price hike are ¥235,500 for the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version, ¥267,500 for the Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) version, and ¥339,500 for the Performance variant.
In addition to the insurance subsidy, Tesla is offering a discount on Supercharging pricing. For a 24-hour period, the price at all Superchargers in China has been lowered to ¥1 (C$0.20/US$0.14) per kilowatt-hour (KWh). Moreover, Tesla China is offering an 85% discount on the Cybervault during the same period.
It's important to note that there is no verified information about any company or seller in China offering an 85% discount on the Tesla Cybervault between February 5 and February 28 of any year.
These promotions mark the start of the Chinese New Year, a time when insurance subsidies and discounts are common in the automotive industry. Tesla's moves are expected to help stimulate sales in the coming weeks.
In other news, Tesla increased the price of all Model 3 trims in China by ¥3,600 on January 10. Despite the price hike, the reduced prices due to the insurance subsidy and discounts make the Model 3 more affordable for many Chinese consumers.
As always, it's recommended to check Tesla's official website or contact their customer service for the most accurate and up-to-date information on prices and promotions.
