Tesla and Clearway Expand Energy Storage Capacity with Megapack Orders
Clearway Energy Inc., a leading renewable energy company, has announced plans to expand its energy storage capacity with the help of Tesla's utility-scale Megapack systems. This expansion will see Clearway's Tesla-powered energy storage capacity exceed 1 GW, a significant milestone in the pursuit of a more sustainable energy future.

Tesla's order from Clearway Energy Inc., estimated to be worth $450 million, includes 490 MW/1,356 MWh of Megapack battery energy storage systems. These Megapack 2 XL units will be manufactured at Tesla's dedicated energy storage facility in Lathrop, California.
Deliveries of the Megapack units are expected to begin in 2026 and will support Clearway's energy storage projects in California and Colorado.
