Tesla Expands Global Supercharger Network, Increasing Stalls by 10,000 in Eight Months
**Tesla's Supercharger Network Expands Rapidly**
Tesla's Supercharger network, a critical infrastructure for electric vehicle (EV) owners, continues to grow at an accelerating pace. As of mid-2025, the network spans 53 countries and boasts over 70,000 individual Supercharger stalls, with the number of stations surpassing 7,000 globally.
In the past eight months alone, Tesla added 10,000 new Supercharger stalls, indicating an average growth rate of around 10,000 to 12,000 new stalls per year. This rapid expansion has seen Tesla surpass the 70,000 stall milestone, nine months earlier than anticipated.
The number of stations, however, is growing at a slower pace, reflecting a more mature, high-density network. From the end of 2024 to January 2025, the number of stations increased from approximately 6,975 to over 7,000, suggesting an approximate growth rate of over 17% for connectors and a lower rate for new station locations.
The expansion of the Supercharger network is aimed at increasing high-speed charging access in both urban and rural areas. In the past year, Japan, Chile, and the Philippines have emerged as key expansion regions. Tesla opened its first Supercharger in the Philippines and installed the 60,000th stall in Japan in 2024.
Tesla's Supercharger footprint now covers North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond. The network made its debut in South America in Chile and recently opened a new 12-stall V3 Supercharger station in Burleson, Texas.
Notably, Tesla reached the milestone of 60,000 Supercharger stalls in October 2024, just nine months after surpassing 50,000 stalls in September 2023. The global Supercharger count was still under 10,000 in 2017, highlighting the exponential growth the network has experienced since its launch in 2012.
As Tesla continues to outpace any other EV charging provider worldwide in terms of Supercharger expansion, the company is poised to surpass 80,000 Supercharger stalls globally by mid-2026, further solidifying its position as a leader in the electric vehicle industry.
