Telefonica, a leading global telecommunications company, has partnered with US start-up Perplexity to offer businesses an advanced AI-powered enterprise search platform: 'Perplexity Enterprise Pro'. This collaboration aims to democratise artificial intelligence and provide a valuable tool for businesses, focusing on accurate and trustworthy answers powered by AI.

The partnership between Telefonica and Perplexity was established last October, when Wayra (Telefonica's corporate venture capital arm) announced its investment in Perplexity. Since then, Telefonica has strengthened its alliance with Perplexity, demonstrating a commitment to the democratisation of artificial intelligence.

'Perplexity Enterprise Pro' is designed to accelerate decision-making while ensuring high standards of security and privacy for businesses. It enables real-time, advanced knowledge discovery by analysing data from internet sources, proprietary business content, and internal customer data to produce verifiable, source-cited responses with multimedia integration.

Key features of 'Perplexity Enterprise Pro' include Single Sign-On (SSO) for secure, seamless access to corporate systems, SOC 2 certification, guaranteeing stringent cloud data protection and compliance, a user management system for easy control over access permissions and team member roles, query deletion after seven days, and a strict no-training policy on customer data. The service also supports unlimited query refinement, allowing users to tailor and improve their search queries for more relevant answers.

Telefonica Tech's professional services help customers implement the tool and get the most out of it, including personalised training, specialised support, and continuous accompaniment to ensure efficient, safe, and aligned adoption with business objectives. The service is SOC2 certified, ensuring effective controls to protect customer data in the cloud.

Telefonica Tech offers a three-month pilot for companies interested in trying out 'Perplexity Enterprise Pro'. Notably, Movistar, a commercial brand under Telefonica, enabled 'Perplexity Pro' for all its customers in Spain since January, offering the latest advances in AI for mobile, fixed, and convergent telephony. Telefonica's B2C customers in Spain, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Colombia receive a free 12-month subscription to 'Perplexity Pro' as part of a Telefonica Group strategy.

The enterprise version of Perplexity sends alerts to customers to keep documents under control. The alliance between Telefonica and Perplexity allows Telefonica to offer a broad and specific product offering for each type of customer in the B2B segment. The Telefonica Group's strategy aims to facilitate access to cutting-edge AI technologies in all markets it operates.
