Techcombank Renews Jens Lottner's Ceo Position for Another Term
Techcombank's CEO Dr. Jens Lottner Reappointed for a Second Term
Dr. Jens Lottner, the CEO of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank), has been reappointed for a second five-year term, from 2025 to 2030. This decision reflects the board's strong trust in Lottner's leadership and his transformative impact on the bank.
Lottner, with over 30 years of experience in finance and banking, has spent more than two-thirds of his career in Asia. He has worked with global firms like McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Siam Commercial Bank in Thailand.
During his first term as CEO, starting in 2020, Lottner led a bold digital transformation that positioned Techcombank as one of the region’s leading tech-driven financial institutions. Under his leadership, the bank made significant strategic investments in digital banking platforms, advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence, and talent development.
These efforts contributed to strong financial growth. In 2024, Techcombank recorded a pre-tax profit of VND 27.5 trillion, up 20.3% year-on-year, and a record quarterly pre-tax profit of VND 7.9 trillion in Q2 2025—the highest in the bank’s history. The Bank's CASA (current account savings account) ratio reached 40.9% in 2024, with a record CASA balance of VND 231 trillion.
Lottner’s digital transformation initiatives enabled new product innovations, more personalized customer experiences, and integration within an ecosystem providing solutions in real estate, insurance, and wealth management. This contributed to the bank’s improved market position, as seen in a 60%+ increase in its Brand Equity Index in 2024 and a Net Promoter Score of 91 points, ranking it among top banks in customer engagement.
His successful leadership was internationally recognized in July 2025 when he received The Asian Banker Global Leadership Achievement Award as “Best Bank CEO in Vietnam (2022–2025)”.
Upon reappointment, Lottner expressed his commitment to continuing the bank’s transformation and growth, emphasizing a solid strategy and strong support from the board.
