Sydney Startup 8seats Raises A$2M for Business Messaging Platform

Sydney-based messaging platform startup 8seats has secured A$2 million in seed funding. The investment comes from notable figures including Black Nova, former Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci, Mike Priddis, and Greg Miller. The funds will support 8seats' growth and public launch in 2025.

8seats, established in 2021 by Iain McDonald and Sandor Moldan, aims to fill the gap between consumer chat apps and enterprise IT messaging solutions. The platform caters to businesses of all sizes, focusing on user-friendly design, privacy, cross-platform integration, and AI features to enhance team communication.

The startup will use the seed funding to scale its platform and accelerate its go-to-market strategy. Notable investors include Black Nova, with Brad Banducci, Mike Priddis, and Greg Miller also contributing. No additional investors have been publicly disclosed.
