Nordhorn, a city in Germany, has taken a significant step forward in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) by introducing the AI Quick Check as a municipal service. This innovative tool, designed to provide concrete impulses for local businesses to enter the field of AI, was handed over to the city by the Mittelstand-Digital Center Lingen.Münster.Osnabrück.

The AI Quick Check offers a comprehensive analysis of a company's goals, data situation, technology knowledge, and existing competencies during a one-hour individual conversation. This analysis is conducted by digitalization coordinator Niels Schockemöhle, who is available for appointments at any time.

Mayor Thomas Berling marked the starting point of the AI Quick Check with a joint photo session. Michael Schnaider, consortium leader of the Mittelstand-Digital Center, expressed hope that other cities and municipalities in the region would follow Nordhorn's example.

Nordhorn is the first municipality in the region to permanently institutionalize the AI Quick Check. Other cities in the region that have taken over the marketing of the AI Quick Checks through the Mittelstand-Digital Center Lingen.Münster.Osnabrück include Münster and Osnabrück.

The AI Quick Check is designed for companies seeking initial impulses for AI use in their operations, as well as for those already using AI technologies and aiming to expand or strategically scale applications. Sessions can be held either at the city hall of Nordhorn or on request directly in the company.

Special offers are the upcoming action days with fixed dates: September 16, 2025, and October 7, 2025. These action days offer sessions at various times to accommodate a wide range of schedules. On September 16, sessions will be held at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. On October 7, sessions will be held at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. After the conversation, participants receive a compact results report with a practical assessment and hints on free follow-up support offers. The goal is to establish a solid foundation for the introduction, expansion, or strategic further development of AI applications in the company.
