N8n Raises $73 Million, Valued at Nearly $3 Billion
Berlin-based AI-agent startup n8n has secured a funding round of $73 million, bringing its current valuation to approximately $2.3 billion as of August 2025. This represents a significant increase from its valuation of around $350 million just four months ago.
The latest funding round was led by Accel, with participation from Meritech Capital. Notable earlier investors such as Felicis, Sequoia, Firstminute Capital, Highland Europe, and HV Capital also contributed to the round. Silicon Valley VC Sequoia Capital has been supporting n8n since the seed round in March 2020. Additionally, HV Capital, Felicis Ventures, Firstminute Capital from London, and Harpoon Ventures from California have also invested in n8n.
Founded in 2019 by Jan Oberhauser, a native of the Allgäu region, n8n provides an AI-powered workflow automation platform. The company currently boasts over $40 million in annual recurring revenue and a customer base that includes Vodafone, Delivery Hero, and Microsoft.
Jan Oberhauser found n8n due to the lack of convincing software solutions at the time. Before founding the company, Oberhauser worked on special effects for films. Recognizing that many film processes were repetitive, he began automating them with his own solutions. This experience led him to develop an AI-driven platform that allows companies to automate everyday work processes.
Users can connect programs like Slack, Google Sheets, or Telegram and delegate tedious routine jobs to the platform. As of now, n8n's software is actively used by over 230,000 users.
In July 2022, n8n was rumored to become a German unicorn. Insight Partners is reportedly offering a valuation of nearly $3 billion to the startup. Sifted magazine reports that the valuation could be higher, potentially reaching $3 billion. However, it's worth noting that n8n has ten offers on the table, indicating a competitive market for the company.
The Series B round in 2021 valued n8n at around $300 million. Since then, the company's recurring annual revenue (ARR) has grown rapidly, with a reported ARR of around $40 million (€34 million). The Financial Times reported that n8n was in talks for a $100 million funding round at a valuation of around $1.5 billion.
