Solar power refrigerated trailer market entry agreement signed between the named organization and CHEREAU

In an exciting development for the transportation industry, Sono Solar, the solar business unit of a leading organization, has partnered with CHEREAU S.A.S. to create a solar-powered refrigerated trailer. This collaboration is part of Sono Solar's mission to make every vehicle a solar vehicle.

The solar technology offered by Sono Solar is seen as a perfect fit for refrigerated trailers by both The Reefer Group and CHEREAU. The solar integration is expected to save approximately 3,400 liters of fuel and reduce approximately 9 tonnes of local CO2-emissions per year per vehicle.

Sono Solar's complete solution includes a customized concept, solar modules, power electronics, telematics and data, mechanical and electrical integration, and after-sales and service. The technology is developed for seamless integration into various types of vehicles, including trucks, trailers, vans, and buses.

The first solar trailer will be produced jointly with CHEREAU S.A.S. and will premiere at IAA Transportation 2022. This trailer will have 58.9 sqm of solar panels, providing up to 9.8 kW peak of energy. The solar trailer will be used to evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of integrating a customized solar solution for a high volume series vehicle.

Sono Solar's technology is known for its polymer-based solar technology, which is designed for high volume series production on refrigerated semi-trailers. This technology has the potential to save up to 80% of energy compared to diesel, and the CO2 emissions caused in production can be offset after a short runtime of less than one year.

This collaboration is not the first for Sono Solar. The organization has already signed more than 17 commercial contracts with companies like MAN, easymile, and the Munich Transport Company (MVG). Sono Solar is developing technology solutions suitable for different vehicle architectures and is committed to reducing emissions in the transportation industry.

The market for refrigerated trailers is expected to grow due to increasing demand for medicine, deep-frozen products, and fast food. With this collaboration, Sono Solar and CHEREAU S.A.S. aim to contribute to a more sustainable future for the transportation industry.

While we do not have specific details about a partnership between the organization and CHEREAU S.A.S. regarding reducing emissions in the refrigerated trailer market using solar technology, we are eager to learn more. If more context or direct sources about this partnership become available, we will update our report accordingly.
