Viwoods 3.8 Software Update Enhances User Experience
The Viwoods AI Paper and AI Paper Mini 3.8 software update brings a host of new features and improvements, focusing on enhancing user experience, interface design, AI functionalities, and third-party app compatibility.
Picking
The Picking menu in the updated software now features a new floating button for quick access, alongside the existing top-right shortcut. Users can choose their preferred workflow by enabling a shortcut toggle in the dropdown menu. When collapsed, the Picking menu remains accessible as a floating button for repeated use. The Picking window now reopens the most recent session by default, with options to create new notes or switch via a "..." menu.
Daily
Improved synchronization of subscribed events with Outlook and Google Calendar enhances daily schedule management.
Handwriting Compatibility
Handwriting input is now compatible with third-party applications, including the Xodo app and Gboard handwriting input. Freehand shapes in the handwriting library undergo two-step recognition into geometric shapes when long-pressed. Undoing the first recognition step restores the original freehand drawing.
Learning Section
The Learning Section has seen significant improvements, including an enhanced interface and interaction for the "Display" function, allowing users to freely adjust document-matching parameters. A toggle to show or hide border lines in PDF editing mode has been added, and users can now adjust proportional scaling of images in EPUB, AZW, and AZW3 document formats for customized image sizes.
An "Uncategorized" tag has been added to the folder management panel to better organize unclassified documents. Folder creation icon placement was standardized at the top of the interface for easier access. Style changes for EPUB, AZW, and AZW3 files now support quick navigation to current content. The interaction and visual design of annotations and highlighted notes in Reading Notes have been optimized, and annotations within Reading Notes can now be renamed. Full PDF export now includes highlighted sections.
Other Aspects
In the Paper section, the selected pen colour persists when returning to a file. After connecting headphones or audio devices, users can now adjust volume directly. Voice recording with transcription and AI command support has been introduced in the Paper & Meeting feature.
An AI knowledge base module has been added that supports saving session content with categorized management for easy retrieval and sharing, integrated with the Gemini AI model. Each module offers a trial "Web Search" function available when logged into a Viwoods account. The dropdown quick access menu added an Auto Ghosting Removal feature.
