PAC Machine Edition 10.6: Enhancements for Improved Performance and Troubleshooting
The latest version of the PAC Machine Edition (PME) 10.6 has been released, introducing several new features and enhancements to boost performance and facilitate troubleshooting.
Data Monitor Component
A standout addition to PME 10.6 is the new data monitor tool. This component allows developers to quickly diagnose and resolve logic issues using plotted data. It works with data from both physical PLCs and the new PLC simulator, improving troubleshooting efficiency.
OPC-UA PAC Server
The OPC-UA server in PME 10.6 has been updated to support double the tag count capacity. This results in faster startup times and improved processing efficiency, enhancing overall PLC communication performance.
Profinet Enhancements
Profinet communication performance has also been accelerated, contributing to faster data exchanges and more reliable network connectivity.
User-Defined Types (UDTs)
Enhancements to UDTs in PME 10.6 allow for more efficient data management and organization within the software. Notably, UDTs now propagate data element descriptions across all application instances, improving documentation consistency and usability.
PACSystems Simulator
PME 10.6 includes a new PACSystems Simulator, enabling control logic testing on a PLC emulator. This feature further facilitates development and debugging.
The software remains an integrated development environment for configuring and managing control system devices, including PACSystems PLCs and QuickPanel HMIs. The data for the data monitor can be sourced from either a physical PLC or the simulator.
