We first set our eyes on the Level back in 2018, and while the world of electric mountain bikes (eMTBs) has tasted its fair share of upheaval, the Level hasn't seen much change. Now, though, the bike has gone under a complete transformation, taking design cues from the most recent Crafty and incorporating various contemporary improvements. Mondraker Level XR 2025 - Need to Know

Blown Away: Advent of the New Level
When Mondraker initially launched its original Level eMTB, it featured 10mm less travel and a motor tailor-made to operate like a lorry's windscreen wiper instead of powering 27.5in rear wheels. Things have certainly shifted since then, on a bike we consider to be the original super-enduro. The Level ranks amongst the sendiest eMTBs of all time, qualifying it as a true OG in the super-enduro game. It's in good company with the Whyte E180, Canyon's Torque:ON, and the Specialized Kenevo.

The updated Level is equipped with the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor, known for its 100Nm of torque and 750W of peak power.
A Display Worthy of the King of Slopes
The latest Kiox 400 display is integrated into the top two bikes in the Level's range, the RR and XR. This TFT-screened display is a significant upgrade from the previous generation's five-colored light setup, offering a full-color display and intuitive user interface.

Geometry Adjustments for Increased Stability
The Level's previous generation, a century ago, used an alloy frame, and the new version stays with a metal frame over plastic. The bike now offers five sizes and two different chainstay lengths, with 445mm for S, M, and ML sizes and 455mm for larger L and XL sizes.
Flip Chip for Expert Tuning
The new geometry features a 64° head angle, slacker by one degree compared to the old model. Mondraker has also included a flip chip on the lower shock mount. In the Low position, the bottom bracket drops by 5mm, while the head and seat tube angles are slackened by 0.35°.

The new Level has taken substantial design inspiration from the Crafty, boasting similar silhouettes and shared technologies such as the Zero Suspension System. However, the lighter carbon Crafty does not simply transfer its frame and longer stroke shock to its heavier alloy brother.
