Audi Brings Back the RS 3 Sedan and Introduces the S5 Sedan

Audi is making a comeback with two exciting new additions to its lineup: the limited edition RS 3 Sedan and the S5 Sedan. Both models, which are based on their respective wagon counterparts, are now available for the first time on the original sales market in Germany.

The RS 3 Sedan, a nod to Audi's heritage, is an offering from the performance model lineup. Powered by a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine from Audi Sport, it produces a staggering 294kW/500Nm and accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The starting price for this high-performance sedan is $133,990, $5,000 more than the RS 3 Sportback.

The RS 3 Sedan, not available on the Sportback model, has generated significant interest in New Zealand, where Audi New Zealand is bringing back the sedan version of the RS 3 after a four-year hiatus since 2018. The Track equipment package, priced at an extra $25,000, includes a host of performance-enhancing features such as gloss carbon exterior features, carbon engine cover, direct tyre pressure monitoring system, Pirelli Trofeo Semi slick performance tyres, RS carbon racing seats, Dinamica upholstery and dashboard inlay, and carbon ceramic brakes.

The S5 Sedan, on the other hand, delivers 270kW and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Despite being a sedan, the S5 has a rear hatch, which Audi describes as a "completely new sedan concept" for the brand. The starting price for the S5 sedan is $147,990, the same price as the S5 Avant.

The RS 3 Sedan should arrive before the end of the year, providing enthusiasts with an exciting new option in the performance sedan segment. The S5 Sedan, based on the new S5 Avant launched in New Zealand in March, is already available for order. Both models are set to elevate Audi's presence in the luxury car market.
