Retail Giant Unifies Operations with Airtable Calendar
A major retailer operating across the U.S. and Canada has streamlined its operations with a centralized calendar. Clarkston Consulting, a leading management consultancy, introduced Airtable to replace multiple planning calendars and email chains, providing a single source of truth for the client's retail, convenience, and food & beverage teams.
Clarkston observed a lack of centralized information flow between the client's planning teams and field operators. To address this, they selected Airtable, a cloud-based data management and visualization tool, to create a unified calendar system. Airtable's ability to consolidate data from independent sources and transform it into user-friendly visualizations made it the ideal platform for this project.
The new calendar serves as a template for the client to further integrate teams and improve communication across the organization. Clarkston designed and developed Airtable processes for the client's commercial and operations teams, transitioning them from spreadsheet tools into Airtable. This resulted in a significant improvement in efficiency, reducing confusion and providing a single source of truth for all teams.
The implementation of the Airtable calendar has allowed the client to centralize the schedules of 10 planning teams into a single calendar, enhancing communication and coordination across the organization. This initiative is part of the client's ongoing efforts to integrate independent lines of business through internal initiatives, demonstrating their commitment to improving operational efficiency.
