Research Funding of 2.25 Million Euros Granted for Examining AI and Blockchain Implementation in Anti-Fraud Efforts, Collaboration Between Our Site and the European University Involved
The European University of Madrid played host to a significant event last week, as the collaboration between Our Website, DeKalabs, and the university took a major step forward. The project, aimed at developing an artificial intelligence system for the prevention of fraud in the financial and digital spheres, was presented at the 113th SUPER PIONEERS Madrid Meeting.
Asaf Levy Alfaroviz, Digital Lab Coordinator and cryptocurrency expert at the European University, and Santos Gutiérrez, Compliance Project Manager of the website, were among those who participated in the event. The session saw experts in AI, blockchain, and compliance, along with institutional and business representatives, come together to discuss the impact of the project and the opportunities offered by the application of artificial intelligence in the fight against financial fraud.
The project, which represents a milestone in the integration of academia and industry within the crypto and blockchain ecosystem, has secured public funding worth 2.25 million euros. This makes it the most publicly funded research project in the history of the European University. The total budget for the project stands at 2.7 million euros.
The initiative seeks to develop advanced AI tools for automating and optimizing key processes such as fraud detection, identity verification (KYC), onboarding, and other key areas. The synergy between the collaborating entities is expected to strengthen applied research and contribute to the development of more effective security solutions for digital transactions.
The collaboration between Our Website, DeKalabs, and the European University is backed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities and managed through the State Research Agency (AEI). The institutions involved in the joint financing project also include Sumsub, a global leader in verification and fraud prevention, and Constructor University as academic partners, as well as the Swiss blockchain startup Recoveris, which specializes in recovering digital assets and combating crypto fraud with clients like the US Secret Service and Interpol.
José Luis Cáceres, CBO of the website, stated that it was an honor to present the agreements in the SuperPioneros Community. Mariló Martínez García, Dean of the European University, was also present at the event. The news had a significant impact on national communication media, with the main newspapers echoing it.
With this initiative, the goal is to establish new methodologies that will increase transparency and security in the global financial ecosystem. This joint effort between university entities and the fintech industry reaffirms the potential of technological innovation applied to digital security.
