Introducing the Atomic Keyboard MDR Dasher Keyboard: A Retro-Futuristic Masterpiece Inspired by 'Severance'

In a nod to the popular Apple TV+ series 'Severance', Atomic Keyboard has announced plans to create a functional keyboard reminiscent of the Lumon terminals featured on the show. The result is the MDR Dasher Keyboard, a premium mechanical keyboard that combines modern technology with a vintage 1970s terminal design.

The MDR Dasher Keyboard boasts a robust CNC-machined aluminum case, weighing approximately 7 kilograms, and a compact 70% layout featuring 73 keys. One of its standout features is the built-in trackball with customizable buttons, replacing the need for a traditional mouse.

For those who appreciate a touch of customization, the MDR Dasher Keyboard offers magnetic swappable top plates, allowing users to switch between three distinct layouts: the show-accurate 'Innie', the standard 'Outie' (resembling a conventional keyboard), and the 'Dasher' layout, which includes a number pad in place of the trackball. The keyboard also features hot-swappable mechanical switches, offering users the ability to customize key feel and keycaps.

Connectivity is via USB-C, making it compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux machines. Configuration and macro programming can be done via a web-based interface without the need for additional software installation.

Priced at $899 (retail), the MDR Dasher Keyboard is a premium product, but its unique design, licensed connection to 'Severance', and high-quality materials justify the cost for many. However, for a limited time, it is available for pre-order on Kickstarter at $599, a discount of $300 off the retail price. Shipping is expected to begin in November 2025.

The MDR Dasher Keyboard is more than just a collectible for 'Severance' fans and mechanical keyboard enthusiasts; it is a testament to the merging of technology and artistry. With its innovative design and functional capabilities, it promises to be a valuable addition to any workspace or collection.
