Rapid growth observed in Montabaur's fiber optic network: Over 1,100 customers already benefiting from Germany's quickest network

Vodafone Germany is currently in the process of expanding its fiber optic connections in the town of Montabaur, marking one of the largest expansion projects for Glasfaser Montabaur. The aim is to secure the people's access to state-of-the-art communication technology.

Over 21,000 households in 25 communities will have access to fast fiber optic connections, with approximately 1,100 customers already surfing at high speed on Germany's fastest network. The initial expansion is nearing completion, and with the distribution network, connections, and activation sites, Glasfaser Montabaur is creating the basis to continuously meet demand through ongoing densification.

Underground and installation works for 7,700 ordered house connections are progressing and will be completed by the end of the year. Mathias Faubel, regional manager for fiber optic at Vodafone Germany, stated that another 1,000 customers are expected to go online by the end of the year.

The connections in the Verbandsgemeinde Montabaur are being continued in sections, with work underway in Daubach, Stahlhofen, Untershausen, Oberelbert, Welschneudorf, Niederelbert, Holler, Hübingen, Horbach, Gackenbach, Dies, Kirchähr, Heilberscheid, Ettersdorf, Reckenthal, Bladernheim, and Wirzenborn. Residents in Heiligenroth, Ruppach-Goldhausen, Boden, Großholbach, and Kleinholbach will have to wait until February 2026 for their connections.

If everything goes according to plan, the majority of the ordered connections will be online by the end of 2026, with the first customer connections having been established in Montabaur, Horressen, Eschelbach, and Elgendorf. By the end of 2026, the majority of the inhabitants of the Verbandsgemeinde Montabaur who have ordered a fiber optic connection from Vodafone will be able to surf at gigabit speed.

Vodafone Germany, one of the leading communications conglomerates in Germany, provides internet, mobile, fixed-line, and TV services all in one. With over 30 million mobile, over 10 million broadband, and around 12 million TV customers, as well as numerous digital solutions, Vodafone Germany generates an annual turnover of approximately 13 billion euros with around 15,000 employees.

Vodafone respects and values all people regardless of ethnic origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, belief, culture, or religion. The company's power demand is covered 100% by renewable energies.

Approximately two weeks before the installation date, Vodafone will contact the customers. No preparations are necessary, as the technicians will perform all the work professionally and will only leave the house once the connection is up and running.

Citizens can find out about news or changes in dates on the website www.vodafone.de/montabaur. In 2025, after initial fiber-optic connections in Montabaur, Horressen, Eschelbach, and Elgendorf, Vodafone will extend its fiber-optic cable networks to additional cities and municipalities in Germany; however, specific new locations for the upcoming months are not detailed in the available search results.
