On Thursday, September 25, 2025, the Hesse Police Headquarters will host a bike and electric scooter coding event in Darmstadt. The event, which takes place from 10:00 to 16:00, will be overseen by Christian Vögele, the current head of the police directorate conducting the event.

Mr. Vögele, who will assume the office of Police President of South Hesse on October 7, 2025, succeeding Björn Gutzeit, will be present at Bismarckstraße 16 in Darmstadt for the occasion.

The event is open to both regular bikes and electric scooters. To participate, owners are requested to bring necessary personal data and information about their bike or electric scooter, including the manufacturer, type, and frame number.

For those attending with e-bikes or pedelecs, it is essential to bring the battery keys as well. Carbon bikes, however, are not suitable for the coding event at the Hesse Police Headquarters.

Removable parts from the middle frame, such as locks or containers, should be removed before the event to avoid waiting times. For the coding process, an identification document and proof of ownership will be required.

Bike coding is a valuable addition to securing your bike or electric scooter, as electric scooters have become increasingly targeted by criminals.
