Philips, a renowned name in the electronics industry, is making a comeback in the home hi-fi market with the launch of the Philips Fidelio FT1 Bluetooth turntable and CD player, and the FA3 wireless active speakers. Both products are set to be released in the first quarter of 2026, and are being referred to as "premium affordable".

The Philips Fidelio FT1 is a unique product that combines a Bluetooth turntable with a CD player. It features a belt-drive design with two-speed playback, offering flexibility for music enthusiasts. The turntable comes with an extruded aluminium tonearm fitted with a replaceable Audio Technica MM cartridge, ensuring high-quality sound. To reduce vibration, it boasts a die-cast aluminium platter and a heavy rubber slip mat.

The FT1 also offers modern connectivity options. It supports Bluetooth 5.4 streaming, Auracast sharing, and the LC3 codec, making it easy to connect and share music wirelessly. Additionally, it has physical playback buttons, a dimmable LCD display, and a Philips control app for customization. An auto-stop function stops the record spinning at the end of a side, providing a seamless listening experience.

The turntable's companion, the FA3 active speakers, are designed with bi-amplification. Each speaker is powered by 2 x 50W, and houses a 5-inch glass fibre mid/bass driver and a 1-inch titanium tweeter. These speakers can be used with various sources, including the FT1 turntable/CD player, TVs, laptops, and other devices. They can also be bought separately or used as part of a full hi-fi system when paired with the FT1.

Like the FT1, the FA3 speakers support Bluetooth 5.4, LC3, and Auracast sharing. They also offer a range of connection options, including HDMI ARC, USB-C, optical, and RCA aux inputs.

The Philips Fidelio FT1 Bluetooth turntable and CD player, and the FA3 active speakers have already been included in lists of the best turntables, best Bluetooth turntables, and best desktop speakers, indicating promising potential.

While the company has yet to release official prices for these products, they are expected to be part of Philips' "premium affordable" range. With their combination of modern technology and classic audio components, these products are sure to attract music lovers seeking a high-quality, affordable home hi-fi system. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting releases from Philips.
