The role, based in the +1/+2 UTC timezone, is a crucial addition to the team as Oyster continues to expand its services and hire talent across the globe.
The Payroll Implementation Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing and implementing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations. This includes collaborating closely with internal teams (HR, compliance, and accounting) and clients to ensure correct payroll data integration and timely execution of payroll cycles.
One of the key responsibilities of the Payroll Implementation Specialist will be to oversee payroll compliance monitoring and manage risks related to tax withholdings and employee entitlements in various currencies. The specialist will also be responsible for configuring each customer's payroll according to their requirements, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
The role also involves supporting employee self-service features such as pay stub access and time-off requests to improve the workforce experience. Additionally, the Payroll Implementation Specialist will provide training or guidance on payroll functionalities and troubleshoot issues during implementation and ongoing payroll operations.

To qualify for the Payroll Implementation Specialist position, candidates must have a minimum of 3+ years of payroll processing experience, 3+ years of experience supporting payroll implementation or system transitions, and understanding of payroll migration and system implementation processes. They should possess strong organizational skills, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in data handling, project management experience, and experience handling multiple smaller projects at once.
Furthermore, candidates should be proficient in Excel and Google Sheets, able to rapidly analyze and manage data with care and accuracy, and familiar with BI tools such as Looker. Bonus qualifications may include experience with Alteryx and payroll operations in more than one country.
