Over 200 access points for public Wi-Fi will be made available in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The regional Ministry of Digital Development in Nizhny Novgorod has placed two contracts on the state procurement portal, aiming to enhance public Wi-Fi access in the region.
Under the first contract, worth 9.5 million rubles, 141 Wi-Fi access points will be installed in Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, and Kstovo. This includes medical facilities, social protection agencies, railway stations, and stops. The contract also stipulates that the service will be provided until 30 September 2026.
The second contract, worth 3.3 million rubles, will see the installation of 70 Wi-Fi access points in Nizhny Novgorod. Sixty-nine of these will be at stops, with one access point being installed at Hospital No. 4 in the city. Like the first contract, the second contract also extends the service until 30 September 2026.
The tenders for the installation of over 200 additional public Wi-Fi access points in the Nizhny Novgorod region were created by the regional government or local municipal authorities responsible for digital infrastructure expansion.
These developments are expected to improve connectivity for residents and visitors alike, making it easier to access information, communicate, and conduct business in the region. The expanded Wi-Fi network is also set to benefit Hospital No. 4, providing patients and staff with improved digital access.
