OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Pulse: A Personalized Morning Brief
OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Pulse, a new feature that delivers personalized updates to users each morning. This proactive experience, currently in preview on mobile for $200/month Pro subscribers, is designed to shift ChatGPT from a request-driven tool to a context-aware assistant.
Pulse performs background research based on user signals such as recent conversations, long-term interests, and explicit feedback like thumbs-up/down. It also considers data from connected apps where enabled. This information is compiled into topical cards that are relevant to the user's live context and chats.
OpenAI positions Pulse as the first step towards agent-like behavior, where the model tracks goals and initiates updates without prompts. This sets it apart from other morning brief services, which typically provide generic updates. Pulse is currently OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's favorite feature, starting with Pro subscribers.
ChatGPT Pulse is rolling out now to Pro subscribers on the ChatGPT mobile app as a dedicated tab. OpenAI plans to make it available to broader audiences and Plus access in the future. The feature aims to make ChatGPT more proactive and personalized, providing users with relevant information tailored to their interests and conversations.
