The Green-BIM Awards, an integral part of the BIM-TAGE Deutschland (BTD) event, will be held this year on September 16, 19, and 20 at the Allianz Forum in Berlin. The German Sustainable Building Council serves as the patron for these prestigious awards.

The Green-BIM Awards aim to recognise and celebrate achievements in the field of sustainable construction. There are three categories for submissions: Realized projects in new construction or renovation, Innovative tools and products, and Research, development, and new concepts. Submissions are open to companies, administrations, and institutions based or operating in Germany.

The evaluation criteria for the Green-BIM Awards are diverse, encouraging a holistic approach to sustainability. These approaches include the degree of innovation, material and waste reduction, reuse, integration of digital methods, scalability, CO2 savings, pioneering role, and pioneering role.

Interested parties can apply online for the Green BIM Awards, but a fee of 490 euros is charged for each application. The deadline for submissions is July 15, 2022. An eleven-member jury, including Annelie Casper (Chairwoman of GEFMA), Thomas Kirmayr (Head of the Mittelstand 4.0 Competence Center for Planning and Construction), Matthias Mosig (Head of Digital Transformation at TÜV Süd), Carl von Stechow (Chairman of the German PropTech Initiative), and Martin Gräber from Forum Zeitschriften and Special Media, will select three nominees for each of the three main categories after the submission deadline.

The first day of the BIM-Tage Deutschland, September 16, will feature an online voting process for the public to participate in. The second day offers the BIM Annual Congress and the BIM Gala Night, and the third day is titled "Building-Life Digital".

Nominees and winners will be honoured at the BIM-Gala on September 19 at the Allianz Forum at the Brandenburg Gate. The BIM-Tage Deutschland event is part of the BTD, making it a significant event in the construction industry's calendar. These approaches can be considered individually or in combination for one's own application. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a budding innovator, the Green-BIM Awards provide an excellent opportunity to showcase your commitment to sustainable construction.
