Omega Seiki Mobility Opens First Overseas Plant in Dubai

Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM), an Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, has established its first production facility outside India, in Dubai. The new assembly plant, set to be operational by the end of 2025, will serve as a strategic hub for the company's expansion into the Middle East, Africa, and parts of South Asia.

The Dubai plant, located in Jafza (Jebel Ali Free Zone Access), will span over 42,000 sq ft and initially focus on assembling OSM's electric two- and three-wheelers. This expansion is part of OSM's broader strategy to increase its global footprint and tap into the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions in target markets. The plant will also serve as a storage and distribution facility for components and spare parts, streamlining supply chains and reducing costs.

OSM plans to invest $25 million (roughly ₹218 crore) in the Dubai plant over the next five years. The company aims to use this facility to serve its export markets across the Middle East and Africa, with a particular focus on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, African nations, and nearby Asian markets. In the interim, OSM plans to introduce CNG-powered commercial vehicles in select African markets to bridge the gap until EV infrastructure matures.

Omega Seiki Mobility's new assembly plant in Dubai, scheduled to be operational by the end of 2025, marks a significant milestone in the company's global expansion. With a strategic location and a focus on electric vehicle production, the Dubai plant is poised to strengthen OSM's presence in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, contributing to the region's transition towards sustainable mobility.
