New Update for Cyberpunk 2077: Enhancing Vehicle Customization, Expanding Photo Mode, and Introducing a Stunning New Feature – Available This Week

CD Projekt RED, the developers of the acclaimed game Cyberpunk 2077, have joined forces with Virtuos, a renowned support studio known for their work on major AAA titles, for the development of Update 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077. Virtuos' contributions to the update are primarily focused on customization features and the game's autopilot system.

Update 2.3 is set to focus on technical improvements and quality-of-life enhancements rather than substantial new story content or DLC. Key upgrades include support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for smoother visuals on compatible displays and FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4.0 to boost performance on PC without sacrificing image quality. The update is also expected to address bugs and introduce minor cosmetic upgrades.

CD Projekt RED's decision to collaborate with external studios for post-launch support is part of a broader strategy. This strategy involves focusing internal resources on upcoming titles like The Witcher 4 and Project Orion (the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel) while outsourcing post-launch support to trusted partners. This model is being tested not just for Cyberpunk 2077 but potentially for future projects, such as rumoured Witcher 3 story DLC developed by Fool's Theory.

Virtuos is the only external developer confirmed to be involved in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3. The update is expected to launch simultaneously on all platforms, including PC, consoles, and the newly announced Mac port of Cyberpunk 2077. However, Mac users are advised to pay attention to their system's RAM requirements.

The AutoDriving feature, which allows self-driving of vehicles, is introduced in Update 2.3. It requires the player to be on a road and will not work in areas beyond the city limits. New vehicles, such as the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, Rayfield Caliburn "Mordred", Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa, Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila, are also available in Update 2.3.

In addition, the Photo Mode in Cyberpunk 2077 is being expanded with new ways to change NPC outfits, adjust lighting, and more. A cracked version of Rayfield's CrystalCoatTM technology is available for lower-end vehicles, and Rayfield's CrystalCoatTM is now available for vehicles from partner brands. AMD FSR4 support will become available after an upcoming driver from AMD, and Intel XeSS 2.0 support is added for compatible hardware in future updates.

Cyberpunk 2077 is still receiving updates, five years after its original launch, demonstrating CD Projekt RED's commitment to the game and its community.
