New initiative from ESPN BET and PGA: Introducing a new live-streaming service for sports betting

The sports world is set for an exciting new chapter as ESPN, the PGA Tour, and Penn Entertainment announce a groundbreaking multi-year agreement. This partnership will integrate live betting into PGA Tour events through ESPN Bet, creating an immersive live betting experience for golf fans across federally regulated markets.

Kicking off the collaboration is the launch of "PGA Tour Mines," a PGA Tour-themed iGaming title, following Penn Entertainment's earlier PGA TOUR Blackjack game. This marks a significant step in the integration of gaming elements into the PGA Tour's offerings.

At the heart of this partnership is the live streaming of PGA Tour events via ESPN+, seamlessly integrated into the ESPN Bet platform. This innovative feature allows users to place live bets on PGA Tour events while watching the action unfold.

The special PGA live betting stream, branded as ESPN Bet on PGA Tour Live, made its debut at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open and is scheduled to continue at six other FedExCup events during the 2025 season. This stream airs two hours before the main PGA TOUR broadcasts, offering early betting insights, live odds, and analysis from hosts including former PGA Tour professionals. The data for this stream is drawn from the PGA's ShotLink system.

The agreement reflects ESPN’s broader strategy to expand golf coverage and audience engagement, with PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+, TGL, the Masters, and more all part of the plan.

Penn Entertainment's Q1 2025 reports indicate strong growth in online casino revenue linked to this partnership and ongoing platform improvements to ESPN Bet. These improvements include fantasy integration and loyalty programs, aiming to enhance personalized betting experiences.

Tim Bunnell, senior vice president of ESPN Programming and International, stated that bringing these unique partnerships together is an important strategy in ESPN's commitment to covering and expanding the audience for world-class golf.

ESPN Bet on PGA Tour Live will debut at the WM Phoenix Open on ESPN+, starting Thursday, Feb. 6, and will cover the famed 16th hole. ESPN Bet is currently available in 20 U.S. markets, and telecasts will be seen from three signature events: Truist Championship (May 8-11), the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (May 29-June 1), and Travelers Championship (June 19-22).

The final ESPN Bet on PGA Tour Live program will broadcast from TPC Southwind at Memphis, Tennessee, site of the FedEx St. Jude Championship (Aug. 7-10), the opening event of the FedExCup Playoffs.

In conclusion, this partnership combines official PGA TOUR branding, live streaming content, and interactive betting options on ESPN Bet, powered by Penn Entertainment’s platform and game development, promising an unparalleled live betting experience for golf fans.
