Munich Airport Unveils New Electrical Vehicle Charging Park

Munich Airport (MUC) has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to e-mobility and renewable energies. The airport has recently opened a new electric car parking facility in parking garage P44, marking a milestone in Germany's pursuit of sustainable transportation.

The new facility, situated northwest of the airport and opposite the LabCampus innovation hub, is Bavaria's largest electric charging park. It boasts 275 charging points, supplied with power from photovoltaic systems on the roofs of both P44 and P43 parking garages.

Each of the 138 charging stations on Level 4 of P44 parking garage offers a nominal output of 11kW, with a maximum output of up to 22kW. Visitors can charge their vehicles at these stations, all of which are free of advertisements, as part of Munich Airport's dedication to a clean and uncluttered charging environment.

Jost Lammers, the current responsible head of Munich Airport and Chairman of the Management Board of Flughafen München GmbH, has been a strong advocate for e-mobility. Under his leadership, Munich Airport has invested approximately 5.2 million EUR into this project, demonstrating its commitment to this cause.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bavarian Minister-President Dr. Markus Soeder, Munich Airport CEO Jost Lammers, and other dignitaries. In his speech, Dr. Soeder praised Munich Airport's pioneering role in e-mobility, stating that it serves as a gateway to the world and a gateway to e-mobility.

Munich Airport's approach to e-mobility is open and not rigidly bound to any particular technology. It continues to massively expand e-mobility and renewable energies, with its e-charging park being just one example of its commitment.

Bavaria aims to triple the number of charging points for electric cars by 2030, and with Munich Airport's new facility, it is well on its way to achieving this goal. With over 1,440 charging points currently available, Munich Airport is not only a major transport hub but also a significant player in the promotion of state-of-the-art drive systems and e-mobility.

As Germany's gateway to the world, Munich Airport is playing a pioneering role in the adoption of e-mobility. Its commitment to renewable energies and e-mobility is clear, and its new electric car parking facility is a testament to this dedication.
