Projects like Midnight Network and Ten Protocol, which use zero-knowledge smart contracts and are developing a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), underscore the evolving role of encrypted technologies in various areas, including AI-driven applications and decentralized prediction markets.

COTI's CEO described public blockchains without privacy as inadequate for serious use cases and framed Privacy 2.0 not as a means to obscure information but as a tool for identity assurance, safety, and scalable compliance.
