Modular Mobility Structure Blueprint for Interconnected Urban Areas by Cellexis
===================================================================================
CELLEXIS, a groundbreaking public transportation concept, has been unveiled as a result of a 2024 industry-academic collaboration between NEXEN TIRE and Korea Design Membership Plus (KDM+). The innovative design, led by a team of five visionary designers, aims to offer a practical yet futuristic urban mobility solution that suits the dynamic demands of connected megacities.
The modular, intelligent transport system stands out due to its symmetrical, organic form and unique, rounded structure. Each CELLEXIS module can operate independently or connect with others, typically forming fleets of 6 to 8 units, enabling flexible adaptation to varying urban transportation needs.
One of the key innovations in CELLEXIS is its omni-directional wheel system. This innovative design allows smooth multi-directional mobility and doubles as entry and exit points for passengers. The wheels feature teeth-like, structured edges for easy coupling/uncoupling between modules, and built-in lights provide visual cues for direction and operational status, enhancing safety and usability.
Inside each CELLEXIS module, handles are precisely positioned to suit a wide range of heights for stable and comfortable journeys. The central area of each wheel doubles as a door, reinforcing CELLEXIS' commitment to intuitive, barrier-free access for all users.
Connected fleets of CELLEXIS vehicles enable users to move freely between modules without transfers, facilitating last-mile transportation within the city efficiently and comfortably. A central cylindrical display integrated into CELLEXIS provides real-time information about routes, estimated time of arrival, and other essential details, helping passengers feel confident and connected throughout their trip.
This thoughtful integration of digital information is just one aspect of how CELLEXIS bridges people, cities, and technology. The CELLEXIS public transportation concept is designed specifically for megacities, focusing on flexibility, connectivity, and user convenience. By offering a seamless, accessible, and efficient urban mobility solution, CELLEXIS promises to redefine urban transportation in the years to come.
