Moddable Six: New IoT Platform for JavaScript Developers

Moddable Inc. has introduced Moddable Six, a new IoT platform designed for developing interactive IoT products using modern JavaScript. The platform combines powerful hardware and software features to enhance user experience and create more powerful, easier-to-use IoT products.

Moddable Six boasts impressive hardware specifications. It features a low-latency multi-touch sensor for responsive user interfaces and a built-in speaker for real-time audio feedback. The platform has 8.5 MB of high-speed RAM and supports cloud connectivity via Wi-Fi. It also connects to local devices using BLE in both peripheral and central roles.

The platform's ESP32-S3 microcontroller efficiently runs multiple JavaScript tasks simultaneously using both CPU cores. Moddable Six supports TypeScript and offers a new hardware design and display driver that eliminates image flicker for frame rates up to 90 FPS.

Moddable Six is powered by the latest JavaScript (ES2024) and supports a variety of JavaScript APIs, including Piu user interface framework, 'fetch', ECMA-419 standard, and Web Workers. It offers USB and serial ports for debugging using xsbug JavaScript debugger and gdb native debugger over JTAG.

Moddable Six is now available starting at US$29.99 directly from Moddable. The open source Moddable SDK includes extensive documentation, a desktop simulator, and dozens of examples to help developers utilise the advanced hardware and software features of the platform.
