Microsoft's November Patch Tuesday: 16 Updates, 5 Critical
Microsoft has announced a significant number of security updates for November's Patch Tuesday. A total of 16 bulletins will be released, with 5 classified as critical. These updates address various vulnerabilities across multiple Microsoft 365 products.
Among the critical updates, Bulletin #1 is rated critical for all versions of Windows and has the potential for Remote Code Execution (RCE). Bulletin #3 also addresses an RCE vulnerability in all versions of Windows. Additionally, Bulletin #2 is critical and affects all versions of Internet Explorer.
Bulletin #5 is critical on server systems but has no criticality rating on desktop systems. Conversely, Bulletin #4 is critical on desktop systems and important on server systems. Notably, Bulletin #6 is specifically for Microsoft Word 2007 and addresses an RCE vulnerability.
The total count of vulnerabilities for the year is expected to be under 100. These updates cover all versions of Windows, the .NET stack, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Exchange, demonstrating Microsoft's commitment to comprehensive security. Users are advised to apply these updates promptly to ensure the safety of their systems.
