Microsoft secures LinkedIn's CEO as latest addition, foregoing 'Open to Work' emblem.
Got Some Exciting Updates From Our CE.O, Ryan Roslansky!
🎉 Our one and only CEO at LinkedIn, Ryan Roslansky, is stepping up his game! Besides continuing to slay the LinkedIn scene, he'll now be bringing his A-game to Microsoft's most famous applications.
Mic Drop Moment: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and the super-slick Microsoft 365 Copilot will all be under his wing. That's right, folks! The king of professional networking is going corporate with a capital C!
Ryan has been with LinkedIn for a solid 16 years, leading the pack as CEO for the last half decade. Now, he's ready to mix things up, joking about not even having an "Open to Work" badge on his profile yet. 🥁✍️
Speaking of Microsoft, Ryan is still reporting to the big cheese, CEO Satya Nadella, regarding LinkedIn matters. But now, he'll be answering to Microsoft Executive Vice President for Experiences and Devices, Rajesh Jha, when it comes to overseeing Microsoft's office suite and Copilot.
In 2016, Microsoft dropped a cool $26.2 billion to share the digital workspace with LinkedIn. Since then, LinkedIn has been running somewhat independently from Redmond. But fear not, the independence is still alive and kicking!
Back when the deal went down, Satya Nadella was clear about LinkedIn’s continued autonomy: “A big part of this deal is accelerating LinkedIn's growth. To that end, LinkedIn will retain its distinct brand and independence, as well as their culture which is very much aligned with ours,” he said.
Roslansky echoed this sentiment, emphasizing his role as CEO of an independent subsidiary of Microsoft. For now, it's business as usual, but with a hefty dose of synergy between Office and LinkedIn on the horizon. 🚀🚀🚀
