Maruti Suzuki Reports Mixed September 2025 Sales: Domestic Dips, Exports Surge to Record High

Maruti Suzuki, India's leading car manufacturer, has reported a mixed bag of results for September 2025. While domestic sales dipped, exports surged to an all-time high, driving overall sales growth. The company also witnessed robust demand during the Navratri festive period.

Maruti Suzuki's domestic sales took a hit in September 2025, declining by 8.3 percent year-on-year. However, this was offset by a remarkable 52.2 percent increase in exports, leading to an overall sales growth of 2.7 percent. The company exported a record 42,204 units last month, its highest-ever monthly figure.

The festive season brought cheer to Maruti Suzuki. In the first eight days of Navratri, the company delivered 1.65 lakh new cars to customers, setting a new record. It also received 3.5 lakh bookings during this period, with more deliveries expected in the coming weeks and months. The company projects to deliver over 2 lakh cars during the nine-day Navratri festive period.

Segment-wise, compact cars saw strong demand with 66,882 units sold in September 2025, compared to 60,480 units in the same month last year. However, the utility vehicle segment recorded a decrease in sales, with 48,695 units sold in September 2025, down from 61,549 units in September 2024.

Maruti Suzuki's September 2025 sales reflect the challenges of meeting customer delivery demands amidst strong production. The company's export performance has been exceptional, driving overall growth. The festive season, boosted by the government's GST rate cut, has led to robust demand. With over 3.5 lakh bookings and projections to deliver over 2 lakh cars during Navratri, Maruti Suzuki is poised for a strong festive season.
