MAN Unveils First Fully Electric Coach, Lion's Coach 14 E
MAN Truck & Bus has introduced its first fully electric coach, the Lion's Coach 14 E. The vehicle was unveiled at the IAA Transportation 2024 event and has already won an award for its digital enhancements.
The Lion's Coach 14 E is equipped with a MAN Electric Central Engine MAN eCD330 and solar panels on its roof. It utilises a MAN battery and proprietary drivetrain technology, similar to MAN's eTrucks. The coach has a usable battery capacity of 320-480 kWh and a power output of 330 kW, providing a range of up to 650 kilometres.
The vehicle features a CO2 heat pump air conditioning system and MAN's latest Assistance Systems. It has 53 seats and offers similar luggage capacity to diesel-based vehicles. The Lion's Coach 14 E is 14 metres long and has won Busworld's Digitally Enhanced Driving category award. MAN showcased this model alongside four additional vehicles at Busworld.
The Lion's Coach 14 E, MAN's first fully electric coach, combines innovative technology with practical features. Its long range and efficient use of space make it a promising addition to sustainable public transportation.
